A Proud Musical Tradition

Schedule highlight: We performed four times during the National Folk Festival and the largest group scheduled, and the only one from Montana. The festival was attended by well over 150,000 people.

The Alte Kameraden (old friends) of Red Lodge Band all about good music and good times. Performing publicly and for special events, we play both traditional and lesser known music for brass band.

Our library consists of Oktoberfest style German festival music and pieces from the original "Buffalo Bill Wild West Show" band library.

We also utilize German military band music and draw from collections of Italian band music and Swiss alpine band music. We pride ourselves as the American home to an extensive collection of Finnish and Finnish-American music.

Recently, we added several pieces of authentic, turn-of-the-century, American band music from the Butte, Montana, "Miner's Band" library.

Our talented musicians live throughout the region and are led by master trumpeters Kerry and Ken Boggio (right). Most of our two dozen members are lifelong musicians. Several are award winning music educators. One versatile seasonal player is a Grammy nominee.

The Red Lodge Alte Kameraden Band performs in public every Saturday in good weather, and by special request in a variety of venues throughout the year. We are a well-appreciated staple at local and regional Oktoberfest, music and cultural festivals.
